Within a month from the beginning of war, we have provided shelter to more than 1,300 evacuees, who have lost everything in an instant: their city, their own homes, work and some of them even their loved ones… So many destinies crippled by a war… Alina and Kyrylo are musicians, a very young couple from Kharkiv. They’re going to become parents pretty soon, because Alina is six month pregnant. But on February 24, 2022, their lives got destroyed by a rocket that had hit their apartment in Kharkiv. Thus, they were left with no place to live.

"The first thing I thought was to run away, escape. At first we had moved to Lyubatyn, but there we got under the enemy fire, so we had to hit the road again. That’s how we ended up in Ternopil, the most hospitable city with wonderful, sincere people," says Alina. In the charity fund shelter young couple was provided with everything they needed, also pregnant Alina could register in a local antenatal clinic. Luckily, despite all the ordeals of war, the child remains intact and healthy. Kirill has also received a medical treatment, since he was attacked in Kharkiv by a disraught stranger who had lost control during the rocket attack.

Alina and Kirill like to go to church, take care of animals and dream of settling down in Ternopil, finding a home and building a new life here. We hope that they will succeed, Ukraine will win, emotional wounds will be healed and the better times are yet to come. Hopefully with the help of ours, right?
